MSU IT Virtual
Workshops

Since September 2020, I have been coordinating, developing, and facilitating over 75 synchronous online workshops for ~2500 MSU faculty, staff, and graduate students on a broad range of topics, including technical training, course design, and digital pedagogy. I also developed and facilitated D2L and Zoom workshops tailored for the Graduate School as part of new Graduate Teaching Assistant orientation programs. As a coordinator, I initiate collaboration across other teams, departments, or product vendors to develop a schedule, bring in expert speakers, advertise the monthly offerings, and analyze registration data & feedback. As a developer, I work with one or more colleagues to define the scope and objectives of the training; development timeline & division of labor; design the slides, live demos, and complementary materials; and iteratively improve the training with feedback from the larger team. While these are always a team effort, I can point to this guide on selecting appropriate and compatible instructional technologies (complemented the June 15, 2021 Choosing Your Instructional Technologies workshop listed below) as an example of a project that I pioneered. I subsequently converted that Google Doc guide into a Rise 360 course.
